Eureka Coffee Grinder Cleaning & Maintenance Instructions
Everything you need to know to keep your Eureka Mignon Specialità, Silenzio, Crono, Atom, Zenith, Helios performing at their best

Did you know that cleaning your Eureka Mignon series grinder is one of the easiest and fastest ways to improve the flavour and aroma of your coffee? Believe it or not, coffee beans can go bad. It’s true, old, semi-ground beans can get stuck in the burrs and clog the chute. It not only causes your grinder to work harder, but also that foul smell and rancid flavour that scrunches noses and curls lips on the first sip.

Luckily, there’s a 5-minute task you can add to your weekly routine to help improve the taste of your coffee while simultaneously reducing wear and tear on your coffee equipment. Let’s get started!

Cleaning Supplies
➡️ Mild dishwashing detergent
➡️ Eureka Mignon hopper cleaning kit
➡️ Soft cloths
➡️ Vacuum cleaner
➡️ Screwdriver

How to Clean a Eureka Mignon Grinder
Learn how to clean the Eureka Mignon Specialita, Silenzio, Oro XL, Perfetto and Libra models by following the instructions in the sections below:

Step 1: Unplug the grinder – Always unplug the hopper before cleaning to prevent the risk of electrical shock.

Step 2: Wash the hopper & lid – Start your Eureka Mignon cleaning by gently removing the coffee bean container. In a sink, use a mild detergent and a soft washcloth to remove any oily residue left over from the beans. Dry with a towel.
Note: Never run the hopper through the dishwasher, as this will damage the plastic.

Step 3: Remove the top plate – In order to access the burr chamber, you’ll have to remove the top plate. To do this, pop off the Eureka logo plate on the back of the grinder and unfasten the screw hiding underneath.

Step 4: Clean the burrs– Unfasten the three screws holding the burrs in place. Next, use a soft-bristle brush to dislodge any stuck or partially ground beans. From there, vacuum the grinding chamber and burrs to remove any remaining coffee bean residue buildup from spoiling the next batch of coffee.

Step 5: Clean out the dispenser and chute – Try to remove any bean debris clogging the chute with a soft-bristled brush and vacuum.
For MCF versions: Clean under the lid and the pouring lip.
For MCI versions: Clean with a brush and a fresh cloth.

Step 6: Reassemble the grinder – Working in reverse order, go ahead and reinstall the burrs, screws, top plate, logo plate and finally the hopper.

Step 7: Wipe down the base – To finish with your Eureka Mignon cleaning, polish up the coffee grinder’s base using a clean cloth to maintain that just-out-of-the-box appearance for years to come.

How to Maintain an Eureka Mignon Grinder?
Routine Eureka Mignon cleaning is only one way to ensure great-tasting coffee. But did you know regularly replacing the burrs is just as important for brewing that perfect batch of coffee? In fact, the manufacturer recommends replacing the grinding blades after every 250 kg of coffee ground.

How Often Should You Clean an Eureka Mignon Grinder?
You should clean your Mignon coffee grinder at least once every week to preserve the flavour and aroma of the espresso beans and the accuracy of the dosing and grinding mechanism.
